Complete concept, interior and lighting design for the Marmalade Group’s wine-bar, Cork, Capital Tower. Cork takes full advantage of its central business district location and a space commanding a soaring ceiling height of over 7 metres.
Primary materials include honey and cork hued plywood set against ink-black stained plywood panels- these are juxtaposed against a rubberized black floor and a bar clad in matt black granite. The dark form of the bar, with its blackened lowered ceiling, sits below a towering white-cube ceiling space. Pivotal to the space is the main structural building column which has been concealed in a plywood clad sculptural form integrating wine bottle display and storage.
